flyer's story...

flyer is a beautiful, two year old, german shepherd boy...who was rescued by orphan animals of bay city, michigan...

flyer had a serious heart abnormality that needed cardiac surgery, which was not available to him from his regular vet, and so flyer lived happily in the loving care of his foster mom, karen, and no one expected him to live very long.

but special dogs always have an angel or two out there, and one of those angels read flyer's story on germanshepherds.com, and before you could say lucky dog...he was off to michigan state university college of veterinary medicine, where dr. augusta pelosi repaired his heart abnormality...and gave flyer the opportunity to have a normal life. he has now fully recovered from surgery, his coat has re-grown over the very large incision site, he's putting on weight and being "uncle flyer" to some brussels griffon babies. his regular veterinarians declared him healthy enough to be neutered, and he's also now recovered from that procedure.

flyer simply adores his foster mom karen, and she him...but if just the right forever home and family came along, a space would open up at karen's to help another german shepherd dog in need. flyer will need at least one stay-at-home mom and/or dad, he doesn't like to be crated, and looks to his human for direction and sometimes reassurance. he needs a very high quality diet and supplements to allow his body to continue to heal properly. and he needs a fenced yard.

if you think you might be ready to welcome a very special dog into your family and would like more information about the possibility of adopting this beautiful german shepherd boy, please contact orphan animals at orphananimalsmi@gmail.com
flyer thanks all his angels
